Safe Room is a moving and deeply human film about a group of strangers who survived the October 7 attack and found themselves together in the safe room of Dr. Gedalya Fendel late that day. In the midst of unimaginable circumstances, these strangers became a source of strength and comfort for one another. In the aftermath, their shared experience transformed them into something resembling a family. Their story is one of survival, connection, resilience, and hope. As part of our October 7 remembrance, we are honored to host a special online conversation with the film's director,
Haley Geffen.Haley Geffen is a six-time Emmy Award-winning commercial and narrative director, known for her work highlighting comedy and underrepresented voices. She is also the co-founder of Coed Studios, a global production company. Her work has received numerous international awards, and her films have been featured at major film festivals, including Sundance. During this special conversation, participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from Haley about the making of Safe Room, the stories behind the film, and the importance of preserving and sharing the experiences of those who lived through October 7.
