Reforestation & Conservation of the Amnun Forest The Amnun Forest is located north of Tiberias, in the area surrounding the agricultural moshav of Amnun and sloping down the Amnun Beach. It lays on the northwestern shores of the Sea of Galilee, Israel’s largest freshwater lake and a site of immense historical, religious, and natural significance, and is close to many important Christian pilgrimage sites, including Capernaum, Tabgha, and Mount of Beatitudes. The surrounding area is popular for hiking, fishing, boating, and birdwatching, especially with the nearby Hula Valley Nature Reserve, a world-renowned bird migration hotspot. Donations towards the forest will include planting trees and other conservation activities such as reforestation, rehabilitation, and protection from wildfires.
